Initial-sound pattern book — the child shouts the picture word. Cast: ant, alligator, anteater, ambulance.

Ask your child to read it to YOU — they know it from class, and reading it to a grown-up is the part they are proud of.

How to play at home

1. 1️⃣Play the song twice — once to listen, once to sing along.
2. 2️⃣Say the sound together — /a/. Make it silly, make it loud, make it a whisper.
3. 3️⃣Go on a sound hunt around the house — who can find something that starts with it first?
4. 4️⃣Let your child teach YOU. Get it wrong on purpose; they will love it.

Ten minutes is plenty. Stop while it is still fun.
